Telugu Affiliation of North America (TANA) President, Niranjan Srungavarapu, is suing the group and Uday Kumar Chapalamadugu, claiming that TANA’s bylaws had been violated. The lawsuit alleges that the Government Committee (EC) wrongly appointed Mr. Chapalamadugu because the coordinator for TANA’s 2025 biennial convention, ignoring Srungavarapu’s authority as President for the 2023-2025 time period.
In line with the grievance, TANA’s bylaws grant the President unique rights to nominate the convention coordinator, an important function for occasion planning. Nevertheless, on August 25, 2024, the EC members allegedly appointed Mr. Chapalamadugu with out informing Srungavarapu, regardless of realizing he was unavailable for the assembly.
