Venom and She-Hulk Guest Star Megan Thee Stallion Have a Tongue-Off in New Venom 3 Promo

A new clip for Venom: The Last Dance sees a first-time meeting between Tom Hardy’s titular monster and one of music’s biggest stars. The Sony Spider-Man Universe threequel’s latest promo shows a tongue-in-cheek exchange between Venom and Grammy-winning artist, Megan Thee Stallion.

The promo video, which was posted via The Last Dance‘s official X (formerly Twitter) account, shows Megan receiving a video call from Venom, who greets her with a hearty growl and starts sticking his tongue out as he customarily does. The two then have a fun contest about who can stick out their tongues better before Megan smirks and says “See, that’s why me and you…symbiotic,” before Venom claims she is “the only one who understands me.”

Venom Sequel Surges on Netflix Streaming Chart Ahead of Part 3’s Release

Moviegoers are getting caught up with Eddie Brock’s adventures by streaming 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

This isn’t the first time Megan Thee Stallion has had an interesting exchange with a Marvel character. The acclaimed singer and rapper famously had a twerk-off with Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk during the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Disney+ series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. While the moment went viral as expected, the twerking battle between Megan and the titular lawyer-turned-superhero drew criticism from several MCU enthusiasts, viewing it as a low point for a show that never garnered audience approval for several reasons.

Venom: The Last Dance Will Conclude the Movie Series

Despite getting the star-studded stamp of approval, The Last Dance may cause the Venom franchise to trip on its proverbial feet on the way out. Initial box-office projections originally had The Last Dance making between $80 million and $120 million domestically during its opening weekend. However, the latest Venom installment is now in line to gross $70 million in North American cinemas, a worse mark than the previous two franchise entries. The original Venom earned $80.2 million domestically, while Let There Be Carnage earned an impressive $90 million. While the first two Venom movies went on to strong box-office success, earning $856 million and $507 million worldwide, neither were critical darlings, with the first film getting a 30% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes and Let There Be Carnage boasting a 57% score.

Venom’s Biggest Weakness, Explained

While Venom is a very powerful being in both Marvel comics and other media, the symbiote still has some weaknesses that could be his downfall.

The Last Dance sees Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom on the run from their respective worlds following the events of the last sequel. While plot details are being withheld, previews show a seemingly comedic movie that promises an emotional conclusion to the story of Eddie and his symbiote. There are also rumors Spider-Man may make a cameo in The Last Dance, with the SSU facing increased criticism for not featuring the revered wall-crawling superhero. Hardy hasn’t confirmed or denied whether Spider-Man will appear.

The Venom threequel features Hardy alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple and Rhys Ifans. The film faces pressure to ignite an underperforming SSU after Madame Web‘s historic failure as the worst-rated and lowest-grossing entry in franchise history.

The Last Dance opens in theaters across North America on Oct. 25.
