VP Vance, Elon Musk, Lawyer Normal Pam Bondi, and Trump himself addressed the summit. Among the many issues going down on the convention was the straw ballot to find out who was the front-runner to be President Trump’s successor within the MAGA motion, and the Vice President received that race handsomely. Out of the 1,022 attendees, 61% selected Vance as the longer term GOP social gathering chief.
Former Trump adviser and right-wing media character Steve Bannon got here in second with 12% of the vote, adopted by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis with 7%. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s UN ambassador nominee, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), every obtained 3% assist.
CPAC attendees’ backing of Vance comes after Trump declined to call him as his computerized successor in an interview in early February.
“Too Early”: Trump On Naming Vance As His Successor
In an interview with Fox Information in early February, host Bret Baier requested Trump if he seen Vance as his successor. In response, the 78-year-old outright acknowledged “No” earlier than praising the previous Ohio senator for doing a “implausible job.” The President added that it’s “too early” to debate the way forward for the MAGA motion, saying, “No, however he (Vance) may be very succesful. I believe you may have numerous succesful individuals. To date, I believe he’s doing a implausible job. It is too early. We’re simply beginning.”
